A deep metallic green and a nod to Yamaha’s speed block era, tailored to a one-off XS400 build.

We painted this Yamaha XS400 tank and fenders for Brick House Builds as part of their custom twin-cylinder project. The goal was simple: keep the lines clean, lean into period-correct Yamaha cues, and execute it with modern materials that will hold up on the road.

The tank and fenders were finished in F8 Green Metallic, a deep, late-model Dodge Challenger color that carries subtle metallic depth in natural light. On the tank sides, we hand-masked a speed block–inspired graphic in black, yellow, orange, and red. The layout was adjusted specifically to the XS400 tank profile and gold-chrome Yamaha badges so the proportions feel intentional.

All graphics were laid out and masked by hand, then sprayed in a high-quality automotive basecoat/clearcoat system. After cure, the parts were wet sanded and polished to a glasslike finish. We also powder coated the frame, wheels, and supporting components, and Cerakoted the custom exhaust to complete the build with the same level of durability and consistency.
